Character Name: Sûlómë Tirrûth Kánohîth Iânólë
Nickname (if any): Sulo; the Gulaew; Menelguard
Gender: male
Species: Daonna (human)
Age: 1416
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 184
Home Region: Ar-Aina-Taure, The Expanse
Home City: The Satsuya Tree
Affiliation: Dark Druidism (Sulo's side)
Personality: Though normally light-hearted with a serious undertone to his actions and words, in recent times Sulo has become obsessive in his vengeant efforts against his traitorous pupil, Alton Galalo. He often does things which seem to make no sense at the time, but follow a higher train of logic. Though downcast and angry much these days, he is still capable of demonstrating fierce loyalty to his true allies and friends, but is much more distrustful of people he newly encounters.
Appearance: His natural appearance is that of a 20-year-old daonna male with light brown hair, dusted with feather-shaped blond patterns on top. His piercing eyes are of an indistinguishable shade, generally blue-green but ranging anywhere from bright blue to grey to hazel. He is of average height, and his slightly-too-slender frame is deceptive, concealing a degree of hidden strength that is amplified by his prodigious skill in magic. His pale skin is somewhere between a healthy light tan shade, and dead grey.
History: Although Sulo cannot remember his first years, his parents, or his original home, chronologically he was born 33 or 34 years before MC 1. His parents were both mages, and he was conceived under unusual circumstances, because he was born an Amanage with the spirit of a phoenix. It gave him the intrinsic ability to transform into that animal, and also to be reborn after his death every 100 years (or earlier), which accounts for his long age.
Of his first several reincarnations little is known. He was on the Wild Elves' side of the War of the Natural Order (MC 276 - 289) until the wild elves retreated; he discovered that Elen Onaria and its lost high elve denizens lived on in the underground Core as Apan Onaria and the Black Elves; he was infected by a werewolf in one of his incarnations; and he had two wives, one in his original life and another sometime before his fourteenth life.
Sulo was inducted into the Dark Druidism in Ar-Aina-Taure in the eighth year of his fourteenth incarnation (MC 1171) by the Druid Anyen of the time, Cularana. He also married his third and last wife, a fellow druid named Morhiril Guliavas, who was a tholaestandri and taught him to manipulate the Natural Magics.
In MC 1259 a misfired spell by the succeeding Anyen, Pedeiri Eindraer, caused a poison that over the next sixty-five years would kill off not only every citizen of the kingdom of Thaurana, but also all of the Dark Druids save Sulo, who eventually took up the mantle of Druid Anyen. The last druid to die in MC 1324 was Jaed Nimnar -- his best friend, foster brother, and descendant of his first coupling.
After a period of solitary mourning in the Core, Sulo returned to Ar-Aina-Taure and lived alone until a new generation of talented magical sentients began to be drawn into the mysterious forest. He began to teach these new Dark Druids, until a possibly manipulated series of events led him and his pupil Alton Galalo to lay siege to, and destroy, the remaining high elven city of Taredhellim. In the aftermath, Alton declared his intent to destroy all civilizations in the Expanse, and Sulo's protective instincts triggered his transformation into the Sage of the Heavens, whereupon he drove Alton into exile, sealed off Ar-Aina-Taure in a dome of blue crystal, and then abruptly vanished from the Expanse.
